Your Muffler Shop in Raleigh, NC
Muffler replacement, exhaust pipe repair, catalytic converters, and custom fabrication for all makes and models. If it's loud, leaking, or rattling underneath — we fix it.
Exhaust Services We Offer
Raleigh's Trusted Exhaust Repair Shop
A loud exhaust isn't just annoying — it can mean a cracked pipe leaking fumes under your cabin, a failing catalytic converter triggering codes, or a rusted-out section that's about to fall off on I-440. Most chain muffler shops push a full system replacement when a simple weld or section repair is all you need. We diagnose the actual problem first.
Our shop handles everything from a straightforward muffler swap to custom exhaust fabrication and pipe bending. While your vehicle is on the lift, we can also check brakes and other undercarriage components. We have welding capability in-house, which means we can repair sections that other shops would replace entirely — saving you money without cutting corners on quality.
- In-house welding for pipe repair and custom fabrication
- Muffler replacement with factory or performance options
- Catalytic converter diagnosis, repair, and replacement
- Exhaust manifold and gasket service
- Honest diagnosis — repair what's broken, not the whole system
How Do You Know You Need Exhaust Service?
Some of these are annoying. Others are dangerous. All are worth getting checked.
Loud Rumbling or Roaring
What it means: A hole in the muffler, broken exhaust pipe, or failed gasket letting exhaust escape before the muffler.
Urgency: Medium — schedule soon. Gets louder over time and may fail inspection.
Rattling Underneath
What it means: A loose heat shield, broken exhaust hanger, or detached pipe section bouncing against the undercarriage.
Urgency: Medium — a loose piece can fall off while driving or damage other components.
Exhaust Smell Inside the Car
What it means: A cracked exhaust manifold, failed gasket, or hole in a pipe section under the cabin. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide.
Urgency: High — this is a health and safety risk. Get it checked immediately.
Decreased Fuel Economy
What it means: An exhaust leak before the O2 sensor sends incorrect readings to the engine computer, causing a rich fuel mixture.
Urgency: Medium — costing you money at the pump every day you wait.
Check Engine Light (P0420 / P0430)
What it means: These codes point to catalytic converter efficiency below threshold. Could be a failing converter or a bad O2 sensor.
Urgency: Medium — needs a diagnostic to determine if it's the sensor or the converter.
What Exhaust Services Do We Offer?
From a quick muffler swap to full custom fabrication.
Muffler Replacement
We replace worn or damaged mufflers with factory-spec or performance options. A new muffler restores quiet operation and proper backpressure. Most replacements take 1-2 hours and cost $150-$400 depending on the vehicle.
Exhaust Pipe Repair & Replacement
Rusted, cracked, or broken pipe sections get welded or replaced. If a small section is the problem, we cut out the damaged piece and weld in new pipe rather than replacing the entire run.
Catalytic Converter Service
We diagnose P0420 and P0430 codes to determine whether the converter itself has failed or the O2 sensor is giving bad readings. Converter replacement is one of the more expensive exhaust repairs ($800-$2,000+), so accurate diagnosis saves you from replacing parts you don't need.
Exhaust Manifold Repair
Cracked exhaust manifolds cause a ticking noise at startup that fades as the engine warms up. Common on older trucks and SUVs. Since the manifold bolts directly to the engine, we inspect for related issues while replacing cracked manifolds and the gaskets that seal them to the cylinder head.
O2 Sensor Replacement
Upstream sensors control fuel mixture and downstream sensors monitor converter efficiency. A failing sensor triggers check engine codes and hurts fuel economy. We test before replacing to confirm the sensor is the actual issue.
Exhaust Gasket Replacement
Gaskets seal the joints between the manifold and head, pipes and catalytic converter, and other connection points. When they fail, you hear ticking or hissing and smell exhaust. Replacement is straightforward and affordable.
Custom Exhaust Fabrication
We have pipe bending and welding capability in-house for custom work. Whether you need a section fabricated for a vehicle with no off-the-shelf parts available, or you want a performance exhaust setup, we can build it.
Heat Shield Repair
Loose or broken heat shields rattle and vibrate, especially at certain RPMs. We reattach or replace shields to stop the noise and keep heat away from nearby components and the cabin floor.
